Introducing a great alternative for our city

A Vision for Martindale’s Future

Martindale is a town full of potential. We have the charm, the river, the small businesses, and the community pride that make people want to be here. But to build a stronger future, we need leadership that listens, plans ahead, and takes action.

I’m running for mayor because I believe Martindale’s residents should be at the center of city planning and decision-making. Together, we can create a thriving local economy, a well-maintained city, and an even better quality of life.

With the right leadership, Martindale can become a vibrant weekend destination—a place where visitors come to shop our vintage stores, swim in the river, and enjoy live music over a great meal. A place where small businesses don’t just open—they succeed.

We need better infrastructure to support this growth. Our roads need repair, our sewer and water systems must expand, and we need housing options that fit a range of needs and budgets. And we can’t stop there—we must invest in parks, walkability, and bikeability so that residents and visitors alike can enjoy everything our town has to offer.

My Platform: A City That Works for You

As mayor, I will focus on:

✅ Community-Driven Leadership – City Hall should serve its people, not the other way around. Residents deserve a voice in city planning and priority setting.

✅ A Thriving Local Economy – We will support our small businesses, promote Martindale as a weekend destination, and create an economic development plan that ensures sustainability.

✅ Stronger Infrastructure & Housing – Roads, water, and sewer systems must be improved. We need smart growth strategies to expand housing options across price points.

✅ Better Quality of Life – More parks, better walkability, and bike-friendly spaces will make Martindale a better place to live, work, and visit.

✅ A Well-Run, Efficient City Hall – Residents and businesses should be able to rely on organized, professional city leadership that tracks progress, communicates clearly, and gets things done.

Priorities: What I’ll Focus on First

In my first year as mayor, I will:

✔ Implement Real Resident Engagement – Make sure the community’s voice is heard in planning and major decisions.

✔ Support Local Businesses – Develop a strategy to attract visitors and customers to help businesses thrive.

✔ Tackle Infrastructure & Funding Challenges – Begin working on solutions for road repairs, sewer expansion, and long-term funding options.

✔ Improve City Hall Efficiency – Organize and modernize city operations so that residents and businesses get clear answers and follow-through.

The Choice is Clear: A Smarter, Stronger Martindale

This town belongs to youYou deserve leadership that listens, plans ahead, and makes Martindale a place where businesses succeed, roads are maintained, and residents feel heard.

On May 3rd, the choice is yours: more of the same, or a new chapter for Martindale. Let’s build our future—together.

I ask for your vote. Let’s get to work.

Respectfully yours,

Laura Sanchez Fowler

Donations

Campaign Donations of any small size help me get posters around town or make door hangers for homes where no one is available to talk. Thanks for considering it.

Preparation for the Job

There’s no required training for mayor or city council. But that doesn’t mean a little training can’t do a whole lotta good!

Meet Me

What’s my motivation for running? Why do I own a bunch of rescue dogs? How will I support you? Come ask. Let’s talk it over.

How can I donate to your campaign?

To donate to Laura Sanchez Fowler’s campaign, you can go to the campaign donations section of this website. There, you will find options to contribute financially.

You can literally stop me on the street because I can also take a donation using a credit card if I have my phone handy.

Venmo is my preferred money app but I can also accept cash or checks (made out to the Laura Sanchez Fowler for Mayor Campaign).

Can I set up a time to talk with you?

Yes, you let’s talk when it is convenient for you! Go to the Conversations section of this website for ways to schedule in-person, phone, or video conversations. If you see me on the street or at an event in town, just wave me down! I am happy to talk!

I will be in each neighborhood on certain weekend days to make myself available for any conversations you might want to have. See the listing above.

Whether it is a quick check-in or an in-depth conversation, let me know because I am here for it!

What are your qualifications to be mayor?

Thankfully, there are very few requirements to run for mayor or for council in the State of Texas. But, I still place importance on becoming educated about the roles of council members and the mayor in city planning and administration.

I have attended trainings, established mentors, and sought out a diversity of opinions about nearly every issue. Head over to the page about my training since I became a council person only one year ago to read what I have been up to!

Vote Laura Sanchez Fowler for mayor for a Martindale anchored in history, striving for a stronger tomorrow.
